At least seven persons were killed and many others injured, when a blast occurred here in a posh area hotel on Tuesday night. The blast occurred on a roadside hotel at Yamaha Chawk in posh area of Model Town near Sahala. The blast was so powerful that a vehicle and the hotel where the blast occurred, were destroyed. According to police, the explosion occurred as a gas cylinder blew up at Kahuta Road in Sahala.

Another police officer said that a gas pipeline blew up. According to sources, there was a large number of people in the hotel at the time of blast and having dinner. According to a relief worker, the fatalities may increase, as several injured people are in critical condition.

Ambulances arrived on the spot and relief activities have been started. The casualties are being rushed to PIMS Hospital. At least four bodies and eight injured people have been shifted to GHQ Hospital.

The reports said that blast was a gas cylinder blast.

Several police officials arrived on the spot. Rescue1122 personnel also arrive here.

Bomb Disposal Squad has also been called in even though the blast was a gas cylinder blast.
