PPPP co chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N head Mian Nawaz Sharif have vowed to keep the coalition intact. The co-chairman PPPP Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N head Mian Nawaz Sharif have held talks at latter’s Raiwind Farms’ residence on Wednesday.
During the talks both discussed such issues as reinstatement of Judiciary, impeachment of President Musharraf, prevalent socio-political condition, problems and challenges being faced by coalition partners, and other important Issues.
Sources have informed that both agreed over the notion that any break in the current coalition would harm the Country; hence it should be maintained at all costs.
The PPPP was represented by Rahman Malik, Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, and Jehangir Badr, while from the PML-N side Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq and Makhdoom Javed Hashmi assisted Mian Nawaz Sharif. Other PML-N leaders like Khawaja Asif, Raja Riaz, Ahsan Iqbal, Zulfiqar Khosa, and Sardar Yaqoob were also present on the occasion.
Earlier when Asif Ali Zardari reached at the Raiwind residence of Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Nawaz Sharif welcomed him. Both leaders had lunch together and stressed on continuing their dialogue.
Meanwhile the secretary information, Ahsan Iqbal has strongly reiterated that the deposed judiciary would be reinstated at all costs, and strongly ruled out any concessions to judges appointed via PCO.
Talking to media after the talks between Mian Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, he informed that the next round of talks would be held on next Friday, when Asif Ali Zardari would again visit the Raiwind residence of Mian Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the current meeting was a goodwill meeting in which all-important issues were discussed. He said that PML-N wanted to implement all the articles of "The Murree Declaration", which was the only way out of crisis.
Replying to a question, he reiterated the resolve of PML-N to maintain the coalition and strengthen it further, and said that currently PML-N faced a two-pronged agenda; reinstatement of Judiciary, and maintaining the coalition against all odds.
Replying to another question, he hailed the 13th June Long March as quite historical by all means, with masses conveying their resolve to remain steadfast on their 18th Feb mandate; wanting a change of guard and rid the Country of democracy.
Answering another question he said that PML-N was steadfast on its agenda and has made it clear to PPPP leadership that President Musharraf should be forced to quit his office as soon as possible, since he was busy conspiring against democracy in his Presidential camp office.
He said that Country’s integrity and solidarity was suffering due to President Musharraf’s continued tenure and the Country was suffering a gross economic, social and political loss.
