Hamas confirms truce but says talks not concluded

Hamas said it would respect a truce with Israel starting Thursday, but stressed that Egyptian-mediated negotiations had not yet been concluded.
A Gaza Strip truce between Israel and the Islamist Hamas movement will last six months, the Palestinian group said at a news conference in the impoverished territory.
Israel and Palestinian militant groups in Gaza have accepted the first stage of an Egyptian-mediated truce from 0300 GMT on Thursday, a senior Egyptian official told state media on Tuesday.
