16 killed in missile attack in Wana

A missile attack at a house in Wana area of South Waziristan tribal region Sunday killed 16 persons, sources said. Several also wounded in the missile attack at the house of a tribal leader. A barrage of seven missiles were fired at the house of a tribesman Noorullah and adjarent area killed 16 and injured several persons, eyewitnesses said. The injured being transferred to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, In another incident, the militant, who was grievously injured in a shootout that had triggered between the militants and the tribesmen during Jirga at Spinwah area of North Waziristan, also breathed his last, taking the death toll in the incident to 5.
The tribal sardar Malik Sher, his brother Darya Khan and two members of the Jirga-- Sher Azam and Mazak Khan had died in a shootout between the militants and the local Taliban during a Jirga of the Hassankhel Wazir tribes at Spinwah on Saturday, while several militants were injured by the firing of the tribesmen, of them, one militant succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, taking the death toll to 5.
On the other hand, a Jirga was held on the issue of the shifting of government offices from here, the headquarters of North Waziristan. The elders of the Darpakhel, Borakhel and Miranshah tribes attended the Jirga, which regretted the decision of the shifting of Nadra and other government offices from Miranshah Fort to Civil Colony and demanded from the government to scrap this scheme.
