Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Convenor All Parties Hurriyet Conference Thursday contradicted the statement of India's Deputy High Commissioner on the claim of Kashmiri's accession to India, arguing that such statements are contrary to India's international promises with Kashmiris, joint Indo-Pak statements on plebiscite, Security Council resolutions on the right of self-determination and ground political situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement on Thursday he said, had there been any truth in India's claim over Kashmir, Kashmiris would not have been offering their sacrifices for freedom for the last seventeen years and draconian laws like the AFSPA had not been imposed over the state to take the state terrorism to its climax.
He said India after 9/11 American episode wanted to fulfill her dream of making Kashmir a permanent colony, which was impossible owing to the struggle of Kashmiris for their inalienable right, the right of self-determination. "The struggle of Kashmiris will continue to pursue India till end", He remarked.
At the same time, he expressed serious concern over the repeated clandestine interaction between Indian and Israeli armies in Kashmir and criticized a proposed visit by the Israeli defense minister to Jammu and Kashmir as dangerous for peace in the region. The talks between India and Israel in Kashmir would further worsen human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he held.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged on Pakistan to raise the issue of state terrorism in J&K with India in their forth coming joint meeting on terrorism and reject allegations of India on o-called violence in Kashmir.
He said India must be urged to demilitarize Kashmir to allow Kashmiris to begin their normal political activities without fear and harassment. He said only pro India groups in Kashmir enjoyed civil liberties and political freedoms while as pro-freedom political workers were dubbed as terrorists and sent to prisons for long detention.
He said Kashmir movement was always a peaceful freedom struggle while the label of terrorism against it was to malign it to safeguard India's nefarious designs in the region.
